Nordisk Film Finalizes Switch to Cyan Dye Soundtracks on All its Scandinavian Prints
Copenhagen Denmark April, 4th 2005 - Nordisk Film Copenhagen, a major film distribution company and owner of post production and film laboratories in all Scandinavian countries, will make the switch to environmentally friendly cyan dye analogue soundtrack. Initial tests and changes are starting from May 1st 2005 and final implementation to the market will be effective as of September 1st 2005.
The Scandinavian laboratories are technically ready for printing copies with cyan analogue soundtracks with excellent quality. Most of the cinemas are now fitted with red light readers. The National Danish Cinema Organization together with the Swedish and Norwegian Organizations have been notified about the change of production and hereby pointing out the need for the remaining theatres to upgrade their sound-readers during this summer.
The change to cyan dye has only been possible after Buena Vista Picture and MGM made their announce-ment last year. Additionally the French distribution society (FNDF) announced their change in April 2005.
On a Scandinavian level we are happy to join this important step towards a more environmentally friendly soundtrack.
