New Line letter to theatres for
new film released in Cyan
New Line is using Cyan Analog Soundtracks on The Man, opening September 9, 2005.
New Line Cinema is making the switch to environmentally friendly cyan soundtracks for The Man. This is the first New Line film to be printed with new tracks. The new process will have significant environment benefits.
To play the new analog soundtracks, your projector must be equipped with a visible red light analog reader. If you attempt to play this soundtrack using a white light or infra-red reader, the sound level will be greatly reduced.
Digital playback is not affected by the new process. The digital soundtracks (Dolby Digital, SDDS and DTS) play fine with either a red or a white light reader and no equipment changes are necessary for any of the digital tracks. Yet, the analog "back up track" will not be an effective back up track without a visible red light reader.
If your projectors are not yet equipped with red light analog readers, you should contact your theater equipment dealer as soon as possible.
